Convent of Christ Aqueduct

The king Filipe I of Portugal (master of the Order of Christ) ordered its construction that began in 1593 to provide water to the Convent of Christ. It was concluded in 1614, with 6 km of length and 180 arcs (including 58 full turn arcs and 16 broken arcs).

It is a great work of hydraulic engineering in Portugal classified as a National Monument since 1910.
